CarlWood History

1984 — Company is founded by Robert(Bob) and Sylvia Carl. Located in a small warehouse in North Vancouver, B.C.
1986 — The company outgrows its North Vancouver location and moves to its present home in Maple Ridge on 2 acres of land.
1987 — New Dry Kilns are built on site.
1990 — New Planer line installed.
1993 — CarlWood makes its first sale to China.
1994 — CarlWood makes its first sale to Europe.
1997 — Timber Deck installed
1998 — BC Rail Tapered Tie Bridge Job Completed.
1999— Doug Carl becomes President of CarlWood Lumber Limited.
2001— Expansion of product line —first bridge mats sold.
2002 — Second sawmill added.
2003 — New Office and Manufacturing facility built.
2004— Supplying wood used in several Hasbro products including Monopoly, Jenga and Scrabble.
2005 — Supplied the wood for constructing a series of North Shore mountain transmissions towers for a major telecommunications company.
2006 — New Green handling equipment purchased and installed.
2007 — CarlWood makes it first sale to India.
2009 — Celebrating 25 years in business.
