Pacific Coast Maple Lumber Supplier

Pacific Coast Maple Lumber Supplier for Canada – BC – Vancouver

Pacific Coast Maple (Acer macrophyllum) is also known as Western Maple and Big Leaf Maple. It is British Columbia's only commercially usable maple and grows primarily on Vancouver Island and adjacent islands and mainland coast.

Pacific Coast Maple sapwood is white/pinkish and the heartwood is pinkish-brown. Texture is uniform and the grain is prevalent. The lumber is moderately heavy and hard, of medium strength and not decay resistant. Pacific Coast Maple kiln dries well with little or no degrade. It provides excellent machining, gluing and screw holding and finishing properties.

Pacific Coast Maple lumber is widely used in furniture, cabinet, case goods, flooring and specialty applications. Maple for kitchen cutting boards and butcher blocks testifies to the rugged utility of this hard and fine grained wood.
