Crane mats, swamp pads, access mats, timber mats, Made in Canada, temporary roadway.
Imagine you have this problem, you are a site manager for a construction company and your immediate problem is a heavy lift of a concrete culvert on the edge of a sensitive wetland. Three problems; 1) how do you access the site with an excavator and support vehicles and 2) how do you keep the heavy lift crane stable throughout the process to ensure completion quickly and safely and 3) how do you protect the wetlands from the impact of your disturbance.
The solution may be to build a temporary roadway and landing surface with CarlWood Crane Mats. Built from second growth sustainably harvested Hemlock and Douglas Fir lumber (timbers), these mats can be used to build a temporary roadway into "soft” sites for heavy duty steel tracked and rubber tired equipment. The larger the mat surface area the more the heavy loads are spread out to lower the pressure on surrounding sensitive wetlands.
Crane mats are built with Canadian, BC timber from local mills. Bolts and connectors are built with Canadian recycled steel and assembled in the Vancouver area by our skilled staff. Mats can be supplied with lifting cables, daps for easy chain hook loading, welded nuts and a variety of widths and lengths to suit any access job. The BC Hemlock and Douglas fir timbers are not chemically treated and will not leach any harmful chemicals.
After the site job is finished the mats can be used for the next new access project; a true "recycled product”. Crane Mats from CarlWood might be the solution you or your site manager is looking for.
