Douglas Fir Pull Outs – nice wood!
Check out these very nice Douglas Fir pull outs, these are being used in the Canadian market for mouldings/doors/windows and other millwork. Sold as 2×4, 2×6, 2×8 and 2×10 the actual size is 1-1/2″x3-1/2″, 1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, 1-1/2″ x 7-1/4″ and 1-1/2″ x 9-1/4″. Lengths are 6′ through to 16′. Graded as a C&Btr clear allowing 15% D clear. As you can see the material is primarily flat grain, but no VG is pulled out when sorted. These pull outs come from the Kootenay area of BC, known for slow growing nice tight grain material.
