Pacific Coast Maple

Maple sapwood is sometimes white or pink in colour while the heartwood is pink or brown. Texture is uniform and the grain is prevalent. The lumber is moderately heavy and hard, of medium strength and not decay resistant. Pacific Coast Maple kiln dries well with little or no degrade. It provides excellent machining, gluing and screw holding and finishing properties.

This coastal lumber is widely used in furniture, cabinet, case goods, flooring and specialty applications. Maple cutting boards and butcher’s blocks testify to the rugged utility of this hard and fine grained wood.
