Azumaya
This simple Azumaya frame was built by a colleague and student attending our local University. For his graduation research project he constructed an Azumaya, which is a traditional Japanese structure, in the Nitobe Inazo Memorial Park. This traditional Japanese technique uses all wooden components and are assembled using only joinery techniques, without the use of any metal fasteners such as nails or screws. All the lumber supplied was high grade clear Yellow Cedar
